Update Location Data
Introduction
Since watchfaces cannot independently activate GPS on the watch (Garmin limitation), there are currently two ways to update position data/location.
Option 1: GPS Fix
Option 1. GPS Fix: Go to the start screen of an activity like running on the watch itself and wait until the watch finds a GPS signal. (only works outdoors, near windows, etc.) The watch must also be connected to the phone via Bluetooth and have at least the Connect App (not the ConnectIQ App) running in the background. (Internet access active) When you return to the watchface, the current location should update within a few minutes.
Option 2: Connect App
Option 2. Via the Connect App on the phone: The Connect App (not ConnectIQ) must be running on the phone at least in the background with permission to access the phone's location. Activate GPS on the phone -> the watch's location will update automatically based on the location provided by the phone. This method is a bit slower but works just as reliably.
